The
Playwrights Collective
of The Brookfield Country Players
is looking for one-acts for it's
one-act festival.
Playwrights entering the contest
must be a resident of Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island or New York
 |
Entries must be new, original plays (no
musicals, children's, adaptations or translations) which have not been
previously produced.

Chosen scripts will be a part of The Playwrights Collective
One-Act Festival and receive a reading at the Country Players' theatre in
Brookfield, CT during the 2002-2003 season. A talk-back will follow
each reading. Playwrights must be able
to attend the reading.

The
following should be submitted:

Full manuscript with one page synopsis (manuscript should be
typed in the standard format and bound in a three hole cover)

Cast list
|
 |
Resume
|
 |
SASE for the return of the script.
|
 |
SASP if you want confirmation that we have received your
script.
|
Submissions which do not include all of the
requested material will not be considered.
Submissions which do not include a SASE
with the appropriate postage will not be returned.

Popular Play Service is a
publisher and agent for playwrights. At present we are only looking for
full-length comedies, farces, mysteries and thrillers. In order to be considered,
the play you wish to submit must:
 | have won a national or regional playwriting contest within the past
three years.
|
 | have been favorably reviewed in at least one daily newspaper or other
theatre publication.
|
If your play meets these criteria, please send a short synopsis,
resume (detailing productions of all plays),
copy of the review(s), notification of the award, and a SASP (self-addressed, stamped postcard)
for notification (a SASE if you want all above materials returned) to:
